Parent Education & Family Stabilization Program
Meets Texas Family Code 105.009 requirements

Parenting classes are required in Texas for divorcing parents who have minor children. Parenting classes that emphasize good parenting skills will assist parents in keeping the fous on the childrens needs during this difficult time.
If you are in the process of getting a divorce and you hafe children under the age of 18 years, parenting classes will be one of many steps that you will need to take to get through this difficult time and meet court requirements.
Course fee: $40 per participant.
Weekday classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 pm - 8:30 pm

Understanding your role as a parent - This course is designed to assist parents in understanding the family system as a whole. The course is 3 sessions/modules. The course will address the family system, the traits of a healthy family, and how to identify the parents role as the primary model for their children. The course can be presented in one day, three 1 hour sessions, or two 1 1/2 hour sessions.
Developing Trust within Families - This course is designed to assist parents in developing trust withing their home. The course is 4 sessions/modules. The course will address developing and maintaining trust, elements of attachment and bonding between the parent and child, how to rebuld trust that is broken, and how to parent from a distance. The course can be presented in one day, four 1 hour sessions, or two 2 hour sessions.
Communicating within the Family - This course is designed to assist parents in the area of effective communication. The course is 7 sessions/modules. The course will address effective communication with children at all stage levels, how to express and communicate feelings and emotions, how to identify family communication patterns, how to address the issue of sexuality, how to deal with anger, how to assist children learn to resolve and manage conflicts in a peaceful way, and how to defuse disagreements. The course can be presented in one day, seven 1 hour sessions, or two 3 1/2 hour sessions.
Building Self-esteem within the Family - This course is designed to assist parents with self-esteem issues. The course is 9 sessions/modules. The course will addres how to build and nurture self-esteem in children, understand and know the value of a child's individuality, how to encourage a child's growth in the area of social skills, how to help children make healthy choices, how to assist children deal with competition in a healthy manner, issues with gangs and gang influences on children, and bullying issues. The course can be presented in two 4 1/2 hour sessions, nine 1 hour sessions, or three 3 hour sessions.
When Tempers Flare - This course is designed to inform parents about the importance of communication and healthy expressions of feelings and emotions. The course isä sessions/modules. The course teaches parents to recognize healthy relationships and teach healthy relationships to their children. This course can be presented in six 1 hour sessions, three 2 hour sessions, or two 3 hour sessions.
