Initial Home Study - Home studies are required by RCCL prior to a foster home or adoption home being certified and prior to a child being placed in alternative care. This service includes in person interviews and visits at the home of the prospective foster, adoption or placement home. Depending on the dynamics of the family, the initial home study can cost from as little as $200 and as high as $2,000. Half of the agreed upon fee is due prior to services are started with the remaining balance due once services are completed. No document will be released without payment in full. (Home visit is required).
Retype of Initial Home Study - Once the client has paid for the initial service. The client is responsible for reviewing the final document. Client will have three (3) days (including weekends and holidays) to request for retypes only. The initial retype is free. All subsequent retypes will be charged an administrative fee of $15 per hour. A deposit of at least four (4) hours is required. Any remaining balance will be due upon completion. No document will be released without payment in full. (No home visit is required).
Subsequent Home Study - Clients who are needing another home study due to another adoption, relocation to another agency, etc., will be billed at the Initial Home Study rates as stated above. (Home visit may be required).
Update to Home Study - Home studies that have been completed but needs significant changes before a placement can be done or if the study needs to be updated due to the prior home study being expired or about to be expired can cost from as little as $125 to $1,000. Half of the agreed upon fee is due prior to services are started with the remaining balance due once services are completed. No document will be released without payment in full. (Home visit is required).
Home Study Addendum - Clients who have an approved home study but need addendums added will be billed an administrative fee of $15 per hour. A deposit of at least four (4) hours is required. Any remaining balance will be due upon completion. No document will be released without payment in full. (No home visit is required).
Post Adoption/Placement Visits - Clients who need post adoption or post placement visits will be charged a one time fee of $250. This fee is required per placement per child. Payment of this fee is due in advance prior to services being rendered. (Home visit is required).
Extended Travel Fees - An administrative fee of $125 is applied to all home studies/post adoption/placement visits that are more than 50 miles (one way) from office and/or require overnight stay. This fee must be paid prior to services being rendered.
